After being sworn in on Monday May 24th, the new Mayor of Gloucester, Colette Finnegan has chosen The Pied Piper Appeal as her charity of the year. As the councillor of Abbeydale and a paediatric nurse who trained at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital Colette said: ‘I do know that the people of Gloucester really care about their children and would give their last pound to support them. I am very excited to be raising money for Pied Piper this year and aim to raise as much as possible.’

She has a varied set of fundraisers already planned to entice the people of Gloucester to have fun and fundraise for the sick & disabled children.

Julie Kent, vice chair said: ‘It has been tough in the last year, raising money in a pandemic & we are over £140k down on normal funds raised. Colette is going to be fun to work with and we look forward to all her Gloucester events which is where Pied Piper started 30 years ago.”

Collette has her Civic Ball at Hatherley Manor on Saturday September 17th with a 5-course meal, band, disco & auction. At £45 a ticket it will sell out fast. Tickets are available from tania.davies@gloucester.gov.uk
