In our 14^th year of the popular charity Car Show on Sunday 9 June, we have an exciting addition to attract Gloucestershire car fans to the show in the wonderful grounds of Highnam Court, thanks to Roger Head OBE.

On display, and currently the only one on the road in the world, we are showcasing a fabulous Birkin Racer, authentically hand-built with the original chassis, engine and gearbox. Tim Birkin raced the Birkin Racer in Switzerland in the 1930’s.

The Birkin will be on display with a Bentley Blower, Silver Ghost and other classics on the front lawn of Highnam Court with over 300 other classic cars in front of the lake. 

Very large trucks will also be on show along with some vintage scrambler bikes.

The 50 acres of beautiful gardens are at their stunning best in June. Enjoy the green space from wood carvings to thousands of roses in the formal gardens, informal and oriental gardens, woodland and lakes.

For children, we have the very popular steam train for rides with parents, go-karts, bouncy castle and big slide, stormtroopers, and many other treats! There will be stalls with car memorabilia, sweets, bric a brac and a fantastic raffle with great prizes and all proceeds going to Pied Piper.

Nick Broady, chair of Pied Piper and founder of the show 14 years ago said: ‘It is always a great family day out in these wonderful grounds and this year will be made even more special by having the Birkin on show. We will rev it up too for the true car fanatics! We suggest people pre-book their entrance tickets to get in quicker and are pleased to say ‘kids go free’ under 16. All the funds raised will be ploughed back into Gloucestershire at the special schools, county hospitals, Wish memory-making holidays and support for children struggling with poor mental health. We couldn’t do this show every year without so many loyal volunteers manning the entrance gate, parking and helping on stands, and serving teas and cakes in the Orangery. There are foodie vans around the ground offering ice creams, burgers, fish and chips as well as healthy options.

We have added a traditional bandstand to the showground this year and look forward to enjoying entertainment from a vintage swingband, acoustic singers and choirs to Glos Disco who like to spray the kids with foam and bubbles!
