This month with the charity!

Wingwalk
On Thursday 10th, we had a wonderful group take to the skies to raise money for the Pied Piper Appeal by doing a wingwalk at the The AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers Rendcomb Airfield. We had Liam, Lucy, Ethan, and Paul raising money for us and it was an absolutely amazing day. If you are interested in taking part next year please get in touch!

Quayside Party

On Saturday 12th, we were invited to the Quayside Wealth Management 10 year summer party. We are honoured to be their chosen charity of the year for which they are doing travel themed activities to fundraise for Wish Holidays.

Belmont School Inclusive Summer Party

On Sunday 13th, we hosted a free family day out at Belmont School. We sent invitations to all of the SEND schools in Gloucestershire that we support. This could not have happened without the time and effort of our volunteers, trustees, and staff – thank you!

Open Gardens at Highnam Court

Our Open Gardens at Highnam Court this month were as beautiful as ever! Pictured with our Trustee, Julie Kent, is Chis Penny and Susie Holt who have volunteered for nearly 80 years in total between them! Our next one is on Sunday 7th September.

Starbucks Opening

On Sunday 25th, we were invited to the opening of the new Starbucks store at the Peel Centre. The launch was fantastic and the first 100 drinks were free! We are so thankful for their support. Here is Katy cutting the ribbon at the new store!

Cricket Day

On Wednesday 30th we had a fantastic day at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival. We had seven tables in the Old Patesians tent and the day was spent fundraising through games, raffles, and an auction. Thank you to those who attended, and keep an eye out for tickets for next year! Pictured are Kelly Bennet-Ramsay and Sarah Purnell, from our Office Team, and Trustee, Cat Hage with Chairman of the Appeal, Ben Caton.

Where the Money Goes

Nick and Julie visit The Milestone School
Our Chairman of Trustees, Nick Brody, and Trustee, Julie Kent, sat with the amazing Senior Management Team and chatted about plans for a rebuild there as well as future funding ideas.

Cattle Country School Trip

Just as the schools broke up, Trustee, Cat Hage, visited the Paternoster SANDMAT school in Cirencester. She met with Sheryl, family support, and Jennie, Head, to discuss their plans for future funding once works are finalised. The team were thankful for a whole school trip we recently funded to Cattle Country pictured above.

Emergency Department

We have funded the new Orga, a gaming console, that has arrived in the Emergency Department waiting area. This will make the waiting time for children a bit more enjoyable!

GDA

We provide a budget to the Dalmatians Club at the GDA which provides experiences for deaf and hard of hearing children. This month there was an event at the Cotswold RDA where the children got to ride the horses, and also learn about horse care.

Emily Kent Unit Magic Party

On Sunday 20th we funded an amazing magic party for families at the Emily Kent Unit. It was hosted at the Belmont School by our Trustee, Kevin Day, who put on a very impressive magic show.

The letter was read out on the day and highlighted Nick’s charitable work, including as our Chair for 14 years. Under his leadership, the Pied Piper Appeal has raised over £3.8 million, which includes providing at least 25 minibuses and accessible vehicles for the schools we support.

They will provide a space for younger children who aren’t able to walk to the playrooms. Thank you to our Trustee, Sarah Mills for bringing them in!
