Guidelines for Parents Applying for Holiday Funding.

The objective of the charity is the relief of children in Gloucestershire suffering from life limiting illnesses or those with severe physical disability by the provision of holidays or excursions’

Application Form

Before completing the application form please ensure your child meets the criteria laid out in the objects of the charity above. Please do get in touch with Kelly Bennett-Ramsay if you would like to discuss this.
We unfortunately cannot accept applications from anyone who has already received a Pied Piper Wish Holiday.
The child must under 18 at the time of the Wish Holiday.
An application form must be filled in fully and correctly.
Signed by the parent / legal guardian and dated.
A small photograph of the child attached.
A medical referral / support letter from the child’s doctor attached
The destination must be filled in before the request goes before Trustees and is binding. The holiday needs to be something that the child you are applying for would like to do and can build memories from. If you decide to travel abroad please make sure your family has valid passports.
It is helpful to attach a letter from the family, or child if possible, giving information on why you feel your family would benefit from a Pied Piper Appeal holiday.
Time Scales
If you do not receive acknowledgement of your application within 10 days of posting, please contact us to clarify that it has been received.
Your application will be presented to trustees at the next meeting. These are quarterly.
When you have been notified that your application has been successful we will work with you to make sure you get your holiday or excursion booked. We would ask that you have booked your trip within 6 months of your application being successful.
We do understand that in certain circumstances this may not be possible due to medical reasons. In this case we will work with you and may need to refer the application back to trustees.
Therefore it is important we keep updated on your circumstances so that we can use the money in the most appropriate way.
Should your holiday not be booked within the allotted time, Trustees will review your application and may decide that the funding is needed for a more urgent application. We will keep you informed and work with you throughout the process.

Insurance:

Obtaining a sufficient level of holiday insurance cover for all persons travelling will not be the charities responsibility. It will involve you making a declaration of current and pre existing information related to medical problems directly to the insurance company.

Once you have received confirmation of Pied Piper Appeal Trustee approval you will be sent a letter requesting you to take full responsibility for obtaining insurance for all members travelling and full responsibility for any extra expenditure incurred. This letter must be signed and returned to The Pied Piper Appeal Office to ensure you’re successful in your request for funding.

In the event of the holiday being cancelled please inform the charity immediately. We will expect to be reimbursed the total cost of any successful claim on your insurance. We will only be able to re book your holiday once the charity has received these monies.

Destinations:

We do not fund long haul holidays. All of our holidays are taken within Europe.

Packages to consider:

Euro Disney Paris
Center Parks
Calvert Trust
Butlins
Bluestone
Lego Land
Alton Towers
Drayton Manor
Seaside Breaks
Additional costs which are not the charities responsibility and are not included in your funding:
Insurance cover for all persons travelling
Pocket money
Extended travel other than the holiday agreed by the trustees
Additional expenses or expenditure unrelated to the booked holiday package.

Share your experiences:

To help us raise money and show others who may benefit we would really appreciate it if you would send us some photographs and a few words about your Holiday experience. Whilst we would appreciate this we fully understand if you would prefer to keep your photos as personal memories.
