Going. Going. Oink!

The Henson Pigs were herded back indoors following a busy summer of bringing smiles to the county whilst educating the public about the rare Gloucestershire Old Spots breed.

The 1-metre tall sculptures were on parade for a uniqe live charity auction held at Highnam Court in September. The Pied Piper partnered with Cheltenham-based auction specialists AMS Auctions, and a fantastic £19,000 was rasied on the night.

The 43 playful pig characters delighted children, families and sculpture trail aficionados; encouraging tourists and local residents to visit a range of different attractions in Gloucester and Gloucestershire, attracting 300,000 people.

Marketing Gloucester, organisers of The Royal Three Counties Gloucestershire Old Spots Trail starring ‘Henson Pig’, teamed up with the Pied Piper Appeal to raise much needed funds for three local charities. Donations were also made to the Gloucestershire Arthritis Trust and Theatre Gloucestershire.
